Bruno Mars said of the song, "It took me months to come up with 'Just the Mode You Are'... I wasn't thinking of anything deep or poetic. I was telling a story. Get prepare to fall in dear!"[2] He added, "I'1000 a big fan of songs similar Joe Cocker'south 'You Are So Beautiful' and Eric Clapton's 'Wonderful Tonight' – songs that go straight to the point.
